Let's start from the beginning – let's learn about our history and solution.
Wireguard DNS Proxy Software
This software for a VPS server with a public IPv4 address and Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 and Debian 12/13 allows you to share a single IP address across dozens of devices and intelligently tunnel internet traffic to Wireguard's internal network. With this software, you can connect home and business devices with internet access without a public IPv4 address to the outside world. It doesn't matter if your device runs Windows or Linux, any device you add to your resources with a unique domain or subdomain name will present itself to the world as a public IP.
Wireguard DNS Proxy Software has an automatic installer in the SSH console that will guide you step by step. All you need to do is cleanly install the operating system, execute the commands apt update -y && apt upgrade -y, and run the installer. In the next steps, you'll be asked to provide the license key assigned to your VPS server's public IP address, create an administrator account, and configure an external SMTP server with SSL or TLS to send 2FA codes necessary for logging in to the panel. Finally, you'll see the URL for your administration panel, so copy this information and save it somewhere safe.
A proprietary management panel for the entire Wireguard ecosystem.
We start with configuration, without which we can do nothing. First, we check the API tab in the admin panel. Here we have all the documentation, including the API key, which allows us to send full DNS zones from our local environments to the main VPS server, which will then know what to advertise on the public network and where to direct specific public web users. Your update script from servers within your WireGuard VPN network will be able to send information about the current DNS zone to the VPS server with Wireguard DNS Proxy Software, for example, every 5 minutes.
Our software requires a minimum of 2GB of disk space on your server. This includes the space used by the operating system, its updates, and system logs. It's safe to use a VPS server with a minimum of 20GB of space, preferably on an SSD or NVME hard drive.
For every 10 hosts with a total of 100 DNS zones, we recommend a VPS server with 1 vCPU, 2GB of RAM, and 25/25Mbps internet bandwidth. Of course, these are only examples and approximate, and everything depends on what you'll be using our software for. The more packets transferred, the more resources are required.
Are there any license limits?
Yes, you can only use one Wireguard DNS Proxy Software license on one server with a public IPv4 address (we recommend the affordable VPS servers from Ionos.co.uk for £1.22 per month).
You can connect an unlimited number of devices from different and the same locations to this license, and create an unlimited number of DNS zones, while maintaining the maximum capacity of your VPS server to aggregate traffic within the zone and across the web.
